In the Scriptures we read this passage, “The king asked him if there was any recent message from the Lord.” (Jeremiah 37:17)

Is there any word from the Lord? There are so many voices in our day so many people who are experts in some subject but the message which we really need is a message about whether God is really alive and cares about the human family and what we can do about our fears and anxieties and how we can find the abundant life. Jeremiah said, “Yes, there is a word from the Lord and there is indeed in our time...and we can find it in the Bible in the proclamation of the Church and supremely in the life of Christ.”

Oh God, speak to us your word, your message for we are hungry to know your way and your will. Amen.
