“Our whole aim, my own people, is to build you up,” ll Corinthians 12:19. What a great goal in the church and also in the home and on the job or in the classroom or in a marriage relationship – “our aim is to build you up.” It is so easy to tear people down. We can do it without even thinking about it by sly critical comments, even by a raised eyebrow or a smirk, but to build people up. Modern psychology recognizes the great need in every person to find a friend who will help them feel a sense of self-confidence, overcome self-doubt, have newer levels of self-esteem.

Dear God, help us to make it our aim to build people up by what we say and do, in the name of Christ. Amen
